My trainer (a.k.a. my husband) had me doing pull-ups two days ago and now my arms, shoulders, and back are paying the price. My right arm is so sore I can't even stretch it. It feels like I broke it.

Ah, well. I know it'll pay off in the end. Call it being insecure, vain, or whatever you want, but I absolutely refuse to be fat. It doesn't make me feel good about myself not only when I look in the mirror and see the fine lines of my double chin waiting to resurface any day now, but when I'm bordering on overweight, I feel sluggish and constantly lazy. My body is just not used to having extra baggage. Plus, I cannot afford a new wardrobe if I go up a size. So you can say that I am trying to lose weight so I can also save money. :)

I used to be deathly afraid of gyms because of all the sweaty people who don't bother cleaning up after themselves and all the guys who pull up their shirts to pretend to wipe their sweat on their faces but are really secretly checking out their stomachs or arms (eww). But this one gym that we go to isn't so bad; it doesn't get too crowded and they have sanitizers everywhere.

Going to the gym can be actually fun sometimes since I have my husband with me (except for those times I cause drama because of all the hard exercises he makes me do) and sometimes even my parents-in-law. A day or two ago I went spinning with my mom-in-law and my thighs hurt so bad I could not walk normally the next day. She did not work out the next day, which made me think her thighs are as sore as mine, haha.

I must admit that my metabolism isn't what it used to be. Add to that eating North American-produced food, and I am destined to be obese unless I do something about it.

Here's to a healthier lifestyle!

Xoxo

First Entry (and hopefully not the last!)

I figured I should start a blog (again), this time to document the most "exciting" things that are happening in my life: getting an MBA and passing the CPA exam.

So first things first--

After this semester, I will be only four classes away from getting my MBA. Registration starts this Friday and I am currently trying to decide whether I should take only two or three classes this Spring and take the final one in the Summer or Fall or just take all four classes and be done with it by May.

As for the CPA exam, studying for it has been nothing but plain torture. I managed to pass FAR (I spent a ridiculous 400+ hours studying for it) and I'm currently waiting on my BEC score (supposed to be out on November 21--let's go NASBA!!!). I'm taking a break right now and I might start studying for AUD in December. I just want to get my life back!

Have I mentioned that I also have a full-time job?

And that I'm currently trying to lose the 20lbs I've gained since my wedding in 2010?

Ah, the excitement my life brings. Busy, but good. Life is good.

Xoxo
